Finding Flow in Teams

A Harvard research paper by Richard Hackman on team effectiveness, found that only 25% of over 120 teams studied were observed as being effective on three outcomes – meeting and exceeding stakeholder expectations, continuous improvement & ongoing enrichment of the individuals within the teams.

 

What makes certain teams highly effective and how will team coaching help?

 

We combine this research with our experience of embodied learning to work at a grass roots level. Team coaching is embedded in their flow of work and focuses on the core elements of the team, surfacing opportunities that may exist in - purpose, roles, process and decision making.

Bridging the Gap from Strategy to Reality

Slow or ineffective strategy execution was the biggest challenge reported by Gartner in a 2019 strategy benchmarking survey.

Employees being unclear about their roles within the strategy and teams failing to adapt to changing circumstances were the major reasons for the gap.

In a post pandemic world, this gap can widen further as business and employee concerns may become more polarised, if meaning, purpose & wellness are ignored.

Research shows that over 90% of startups don’t make it past the 5-year mark, which means very few move from seed to growth stages and beyond.


One of the subtle reasons is the ability of young companies to recover from multiple transitions in a short space of time. Exits of founders, change in product strategy, market reassessment, funding are some of the common examples encountered during this time. Each of these (and sometimes in combination) can challenge the leadership in new ways.
